1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Throof ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Throof is a personal envelope budgeting application for iOS. It allows you to create budgets, track transactions, set savings goals, and optionally import transactions from bank SMS messages. All data is stored locally on your device.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Throof. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• All data you enter into the App
• Maintaining the security of your device and any API keys you configure
• Ensuring the accuracy of your financial records — Throof is a budgeting tool, not a financial advisor
• Creating your own backups of any data you wish to preserve, as data is stored only on your device

5. SMS Import Feature

Throof's SMS import feature reads bank transaction notifications to help you log transactions. By using this feature:

• You grant the App permission to access your SMS messages for the purpose of extracting transaction data
• You acknowledge that SMS parsing may not always be 100% accurate and you should verify imported transactions
• You understand that SMS messages are processed on your device and are not stored or transmitted by Throof (unless you enable the optional AI parsing feature)

6. AI-Powered Parsing (Optional)

If you choose to enable AI-enhanced SMS parsing:

• You must provide your own Anthropic API key
• You acknowledge that SMS message text will be sent to Anthropic's servers for processing
• You are responsible for any costs associated with your Anthropic API usage
• Anthropic's terms of service and privacy policy apply to data processed by their API

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, logo, and content, is owned by Throof and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our written permission.

Throof is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy or reliability of SMS parsing or transaction data
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Compatibility with all devices or iOS versions

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Throof and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from:

• Your use of or inability to use the App
• Inaccurate transaction parsing or data entry
• Loss of data due to device failure, app deletion, or any other cause
• Any third-party services (including the Anthropic API)

11. Data Loss

Since all data is stored locally on your device, Throof cannot recover lost data. You acknowledge that uninstalling the App, resetting your device, or device failure will result in permanent loss of your data. We recommend maintaining your own records outside of the App.

12. Termination

You may stop using Throof at any time by deleting the App from your device. All your data will be permanently removed upon deletion.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
